Each year, Cicero District 99 proudly partners with the Town of Cicero and the Cicero Mexican Cultural Committee to hos the "Dia del Niño" celebration. This vibrant event is a testament to our community's commitment to preserving and honoring our shared Mexican heritage.
Families can immerse themselves in a cultural extravaganza. Children are invited to showcase their English and Spanish biliteracy skills, partake in traditional games, and revel in the significance of cultural celebrations that reinforce family and community bonds.

While "Dia del Niño" is officially observed on April 30 in Mexico with grand festivities in schools and community centers, our local rendition brings the spirit of this holiday to Cicero with a twist of educational enrichment.
? Earlier this spring, Cicero families and District 99 teachers collaborated to craft whimsical paper mâché maracas and guitars, symbolizing the playful essence of childhood. These creative sessions, coupled with bilingual reading activities, have been instrumental in promoting biliteracy and cultural awareness among our students and their families.
Cicero's Dia del Niño is more than just a celebration; it's a vital educational and cultural gathering place. It where parents, grandparents, children, and educators unite to learn, share, and honor the cultural "gifts" that weave the fabric of our school community.
