Day of Mindfulness In the Heart of Reedy Creek Park
Our practice includes sitting and walking meditation, mindful somatic movement, songs, readings or short teachings, and time for sharing together. Weather permitting, we’ll spend time outdoors among the spring forest; if not, we’ll practice indoors.
This community (Sangha) is inspired by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and the Plum Village tradition, and is open to people of all faiths and those with no spiritual background.
Formal practice will be held from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Those who wish are invited to stay afterward for a mindful potluck lunch, eaten partly in silence and then with time to connect.
Please arrive 5 to 15 minutes early so we can settle in together.
Bring a water bottle, a cushion for sitting (some are available), a journal, and an open heart. On rainy days, bring weather-appropriate clothing.
This event is offered in the spirit of dana (generosity). There is no required donation, though contributions of money, food, or help with cleanup are welcome.
If you’d like to support the continuation of this space, you’re invited to register with a sliding scale contribution ($15–$45).
We look forward to practicing together with you!
