How can we have an anniversary show without an Open Mic? If you've been waiting for the right open mic to perform at, this is the one. We're welcoming Stand-up, Music, Poetry, Storytelling and Dance — as long as it connects to the theme.

The theme is Back to Our Roots — and we mean that in every direction. Go back to the first piece you ever wrote. The song you performed before anyone was listening. The story you've been carrying for years but never told on a stage. Whatever brought you to performance in the first place — bring that.

House of T began with open mics. This is where our community was built, where first-time performers found their footing, where regulars became fixtures, and where Fat Jesus has spent eight years hosting, introducing, and holding the room together. On July 18, for the first time ever, he's performing at his own open mic.

Alongside his first-ever performance, eight artists who have genuinely shaped what House of T is today are coming back to the stage for curated sets. These aren't just performers, they're part of the reason this community exists in the form it does.

House of T Turns 8

This open mic is Day 3 of a 4 day festival to celebrate the 8th year anniversary of House of T. 

House of T started in 2018 with a simple conviction — that live performance is worth showing up for. What followed was nearly eight years of music, open mics, poetry nights, and storytelling sessions across Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore, and Mumbai. Hundreds of events, and a community that kept coming back not just for the acts on stage, but for what the room felt like when everyone was in it together.

Back to Our Roots is how House of T turns 8. A four-day anniversary festival at Vinyl & Brew, July 16–19, built around the artists, collaborators, and audiences who've been part of this story from the very beginning.
