Dawn Raids (the play) by Oscar Kightley was first presented by Pacific Underground in Auckland and Christchurch to critical acclaim. Twenty-five years later in 2022 the Auckland Theatre Company collaborated with Pacific Underground to present the co-production in the wake of the Government Apology to the Pacific communities of Aotearoa. The Niu Dawn Raids Grants initiatives, a Creative New Zealand Pacific Arts Strategy, has given Pacific Underground the opportunity to finally bring this play to Wellington, and to offer play readings to Christchurch and Dunedin. We proudly bring three shows to Wellington on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 October at the Wellington Opera House. The first show on Thurs 24 October will be a school matinee show.
