Dawn of the Railway

This is a unique event celebrating a pivotal moment in railway history. Heswall Concert Band, in association with Rocket All Aboard (https://rocketallaboard.co.uk/), are delighted to be performing with local poet Alison Schultz, and rail historian Dr David Gwyn OBE in this celebration of the start of works on the Liverpool - Manchester railway. Compered by local broadcasting legend Roger Phillips, it includes the premiere of a fantastic piece of music, 'Dawn of the Iron Road 1826', commissioned especially for this from Matt Holroyd.
