David's Place presents: Ayman Boujlida

Ayman has found a unique musical voice as a result of his passion for jazz and Tunisian folk music. The New York-based artist has been playing with jazz artists and Grammy winners and has lead his band at festivals to include the Carthage international festival, the Dubai Jazz festival, Reykjavik Jazz Festival, a performance that was critically acclaimed for showcasing his multi-instrumentalist skills and original compositions. Winner of the AFAC 2016 composers award. In the words of Miles Davis' drummer Jimmy Cobb: Ayman has a "very mature and musical way of approaching odd meters – I haven'theard any better".Ayman's new album DEPARTURE is out now, however, he'll be presenting a brand-new program, not heard before.
