For the third year in succession, Portsmouth & District Unite Community is excited to present the left-wing folk-punk phenomenon David Rovics and the Ministry of Culture!Hailing from Portland, Oregon, David Rovics is one of the English-speaking world's most incisive, witty, and prolific political songwriters. (Not to mention, a fabulous musician and a really nice bloke!)He's teamed up with wonderful Brisbane singer and activist Kamala Emanuel to perform under the name "Ministry of Culture". The venue is the Southsea Cinema and Arts Centre, 1 Palmerston Road, Southsea.The performance starts at 9pm, but if you come earlier you will be able to see three young local bands: The Doodahs (6.30pm), Vandal Paint (7.15pm), and The Breaking Hands (8pm).
