Percussionist Rivera leads la Bámbula, driven by thunderous hand drums, call-and-response vocals, and irresistible grooves. Rivera’s leadership blends deep scholarship with raw performance power, honoring the African diaspora while pushing rhythmic boundaries forward. From festivals and concert halls to community gatherings, David Rivera y la Bámbula invite audiences to feel the heartbeat of the African Caribbean world. This edition is co-presented by Rhythm Foundation and Escala Sonora, with support from City of Miami Beach.
