David Ollington, academic advisor for the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work (SASW)The Power of Words
A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, David holds two Bachelor of Arts degrees from K-State, one in Humanities and one in Theatre. He has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance from Texas Christian University. In addition to his work as an advisor, he currently pursues completion of a K-State Bachelor of Science degree in Social Sciences. He is the 2017 recipient of Distinguished Professor of the year from the K-State LGBTQ+ Resource Center. David is an Associate Professor Emeritus for K-State’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. He’s choreographed and directed at K-State, Manhattan Arts Center, the Columbian Theatre in Wamego, and several professional theatres in the Kansas City area. David also staged productions at Manhattan High School where he was a para professional educator working with special needs students, an activity that led to him choreographing for Barrier-Free Theatre, K-State’s Theatre troupe for actors with and without disabilities.
