Please join us for an evening of music courtesy of David LaMotte’s Roots & Branches Fall Retreat taking place in Montreat, Oct 2-5. This evening’s performance is a special event open to the public during the course of this special retreat weekend. David will be joined by numerous friends and artists onstage for an evening of storytelling and music to soothe your soul. Tickets are available for sale, so get them early… This show will sell out! David LaMotte is a singer-songwriter, author, and speaker who has performed thousands of concerts across the U.S. and around the world. Since June, this has included performing in Uganda, Guatemala, and Scotland, as well as playing to 16,000 people in Calgary’s Saddledome.
Aditi Sethi and Jay Brown — Aditi and Jay are a husband and wife duo from Black Mountain, NC who combine traditional Indian and American music with soul-opening original “Appalucian” music. Aditi is a hospice physician and end-of-life doula, and Jay is a music therapist. Music is an important part of their lives, and of their work at the Center for Conscious Living and Dying.
Billy Jonas is a musician who harnesses his natural gift of joyful enthusiasm to educate, empower, and unite his audiences with a whimsical creativity that involves everyone present in the creation of his music. Billy and David make up two-thirds of the interfaith musical trio, Abraham Jam.
Yara Allen is Co-Director of Theomusicology and Movement Arts for the Moral Voices Justice Choir. Through that role, she helps to lead Repairers of the Breach and the Poor People’s Campaign. Yara believes in the power of music to unify and move people towards social justice. Yara offers deep, grounded hope and connection through song.
Zöe Lewis is a musician from Brighton, England who plays original gypsy jazz, swing, world-beat, and folk music with quirky storytelling and a huge sense of humor. Zoe has toured with Judy Collins, the Indigo Girls, Richie Havens, Nanci Griffith, and even opened for Pat Benatar on ukulele.
