Indie folk artist David Howley, from Ireland and founding member of Billboard No.1 band We Banjo 3, has been at the forefront of Irish guitar, banjo and mandolin for over a decade. An award-winning vocalist, he has performed with The Chieftains, Eileen Ivers, Carlos Nunez, Billy Strings, Bela Fleck, Altan, Ajeet and Mumford & Sons, amongst others.
David’s first solo album has been called “a thing of rare beauty” by the Irish Times. The four-star review of for Venus commends the album as pointing to “a richly creative period that he has embraced to the full. All of which augurs well for this album’s transition to live performance.”
Now, David Howley steps into his second album with the release of "Shadow," a song that reimagines the ancient tale of Eurydice and Orpheus. This track dives into the complexities of love and loss, weaving a story that’s both timeless and deeply personal. With its upbeat rhythm and heartfelt lyrics, "Shadow" showcases Howley's knack for pairing profound narratives with spirited melodies. Joining David will be his brother and We Banjo 3 bandmate Martin Howley. A trailblazer in Irish mandolin and banjo, a seven-time national champion and the first Irish banjo player to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. Also the show will feature Kiana June on fiddle. From rocking massive stages around the world to recording four Billboard #1 albums with Gaelic Storm and bringing the fiddle to Come From Away, Kiana is a one-of-a-kind musician and fuses classical chops with American and Irish folk music!
