About the Artists
Violinist and conductor Simón Gollo has built a thriving international career spanning chamber music, solo performance, teaching, and conducting. A recording artist with IBS Classical, he has performed on some of the world's most prestigious stages, from Carnegie Hall and the 92nd Street Y in New York to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, and major venues across Latin America and Europe. Born in Venezuela and raised in Switzerland, Gollo has collaborated with renowned musicians and ensembles worldwide, including the Cuarteto Latinoamericano and members of the Jerusalem and Vermeer Quartets.
Beyond performing, Gollo has an accomplished conducting career, currently serving as Assistant Conductor of the Plano Symphony and leading engagements with the Irving and San Angelo Symphonies in Texas. A dedicated educator, he taught violin at Furman University from 2015 to 2024 and is now stepping into a new role as Associate Professor of Violin at the University of North Texas. Locally, Greenville audiences may remember him as Artistic Director of the Carolina Youth Symphony, a program with more than 60 years of history.
Pianist David Gross has performed extensively throughout the United States and Europe, appearing with orchestras including the Berliner Symphoniker, the Greenville Symphony, and the Brevard Philharmonic, among many others. His recordings have been broadcast on German NPR, and he was featured in the German National Public Television film "Singing Hands." Gross is a founding member of the Poinsett Piano Trio, which has toured extensively across the Southeastern US, Europe, and New Zealand.
