Trio kytaristy Davida Dorůžky, flétnisty a zpěváka Roberta Fischmanna a hráče na bicí nástroje a perkuse Martina Nováka vzniklo na sklonku roku 2020 s cílem tvořit novou hudbu na pomezí world music a jazzové improvizace, která by rozvíjela hudební tradice různých regionů Evropy i Blízkého Východu. Své debutové album nazvané Gilgul (hebrejské slovo pro koloběh nebo cyklus) vydala formace v září 2023 u vydavatelství Animal Music. CD se okamžitě setkalo s bouřlivými ohlasy u veřejnosti i odborníků v ČR i v zahraničí, stalo se nositelem Ceny Anděl v kategorii Jazz, vítězem ankety Česká jazzová sklizeň Českého Rozhlasu, ocitlo se na 7. místě v žebříčku World Music Charts Europe a bylo též nominováno na cenu Deutschen Schallplattenkritik. Server jazzport.cz napsal, že „při koncentrovaném poslechu lze cítit, že hudba proniká do srdce. A že tryská ze srdce…“ a ohodnotil desku pěti hvězdičkami. Nové seskupení vyniká nebývale originálním pojetím a zvukem, opírajícím se jak o nezvyklou instrumentaci, tak o fakt, že s autorským i tradičním materiálem hráči pracují s neobyčejnou volností. A tak se snadno přihodí, že tradiční chasidské nápěvy vmžiku střídají metalcorové pasáže a melodie ze středověkého Španělska můžeme uslyšet bok po boku s inspiracemi newyorskou downtown scénou.

The trio of guitarist David Dorůžka, flautist and singer Robert Fischmann and percussionist Martin Novák was formed in late 2020 with the aim of creating new music on the border between world music and jazz improvisation, which would develop the musical traditions of various regions of Europe and the Middle East. The formation will release its debut album, Gilgul (the Hebrew word for cycle or cycle), in September 2023 on the Animal Music label. The CD was immediately met with a stormy response from the public and experts in the Czech Republic and abroad, became the winner of the Anděl Award in the Jazz category, the winner of the Czech Radio's Czech Jazz Harvest poll, was ranked 7th in the World Music Charts Europe and was also nominated for the Deutschen Schallplattenkritik award. The server jazzport.cz wrote that "with concentrated listening one can feel that the music penetrates into the heart. And that it flows from the heart..." and rated the album with five stars. The new group stands out for its unprecedentedly original concept and sound, relying on both unusual instrumentation and the fact that the players work with both original and traditional material with unusual freedom. And so it easily happens that traditional Hasidic chants are instantly replaced by metalcore passages, and melodies from medieval Spain can be heard side by side with inspirations from the New York downtown scene.
