Dave is one of our finest English concertina players & an experienced workshop leader. He also plays fiddle & accordion & sings. He’s well known for his work with The Mellstock Band & Hands On Music Weekends.
Dave’s Village Band Workshops are aimed at musicians who can read music and already know their way round their instrument. Quick sight-reading isn’t important, as we go round all the parts at a relaxed speed to make sure everyone is on board, and then arrange the repeats so that all the melody instruments get a crack at the tune and the harmonies.
Dave brings his wealth of experience and wide knowledge of traditional styles to these workshops, demonstrating how to bring the tunes and harmonies to life, shaping the music with accents, phrasing and dynamics, to create a unified band sound full of vitality and variety. Some of the music will be available in advance.

N.B. Booking is recommended as numbers are limited. Music will be sent in advance, maps & accommodation lists on request.
The club meets in an upstairs room. There is a handrail on each side of the stairs but no stairlift. Assistance dogs only, please.
