Dave Ouzo Land Hosting the Songwriters Open Mic

COME JOIN US for our unique spin on the open mic concept. This will be an open mic event but it is exclusively for SONGWRITERS PERFORMING ORIGINAL MUSIC. We are planning to continue hosting the Songwriters Open Mic on the last Tuesday of each month.
FOR YOU SONGWRITERS interested in performing, signups will begin at 5:00pm the evening of the show which we are slating for 10 performers. Each artist can perform 3 songs (*) up to approximately 15 minutes (including any setup/breakdown time so acoustic instruments with pickups are encouraged to allow maximum performance time). Should there be more than 10 signups, they will be treated as a waiting list. After the initial 10 songwriters have performed, any time remaining will be offered to the waiting list in order of sign up beginning with number 11. If there are fewer than 10 signups, after all the artists have performed, the remaining time will be offered to and divided up among any songwriters still in attendance and interested in performing additional songs. There is a house PA and a small stage which will comfortably accommodate solo or duo acts. You can stand or sit (chairs and padded barstools will be available). There will also be a merch table so artists with CDs, Vinyl, Download Cards , etc., are encouraged to bring them to display and (hopefully) sell. Space will be limited so, depending on the number of songwriters with merch for sale, each artist may be limited to 1 or 2 items. BRING BUSINESS CARDS!!! They're cheap and they are your best chance to solidify a first impression.
(*) You are not required to play 3 songs. If you prefer to play 1 or 2 songs, that is absolutely fine. If your 3 songs will exceed 15 minutes, you may be limited to 2 songs depending on the number of artists signed up to perform on a given evening..
FOR YOU MUSIC LOVERS interested in being in the audience, we will begin seating at 5:00pm. There is NO charge to attend., however, we are requesting a suggested $10 donation to help cover our overhead. Pinot's Palette has a bar with beer, wine, signature cocktails and non alcoholic selections. There will also be snacks and lite fare available to purchase. This is a seated event in a Listening Room atmosphere. We ask audience members (**) to respect the artists and everyone in attendance and confine talking to the time in between performers. These artists will be performing original compositions which, in many cases, have never been heard by all or most of the audience. It is not fair to the songwriters to expect them to compete with random conversations. Should you find it necessary to have a conversation with someone in person or on a cell phone, we ask that you please be respectful and step outside.
(**) Artists, when you are not on stage you are part of the audience. Please respect your fellow performers.
THE FORMAT for the evening is pretty simple. Your MC and resident songwriter, Dave Ouzo Land, will start the show at 6:00 with a 15 minute set. At 6:15 the first guest songwriter will take the stage. Approximately every 15 minutes a new performer will be introduced and perform their 3 songs until we run out of time or songwriters. The show will conclude at 9:00, after a final set from Dave.
