About this Event

WE ARE THE DAUGHTERS OF QUEENS
Black Girl Empowerment Workshop (Ages 8–13)

A one-day empowerment experience centering identity, voice, leadership, and safety through the legacy of African queens and modern self-advocacy.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

This interactive workshop introduces girls to the legacy of powerful women from the ancient Kingdom of Kush—where queens known as Kandakes were leaders, decision-makers, and protectors of their communities.

Through storytelling, creative activities, group work, and guided reflection, participants will explore what it means to lead, use their voice, and understand personal safety in everyday life.

We connect ancient wisdom with modern empowerment so girls can understand:
“Leadership is not something you wait for—you already practice it.”

WHAT GIRLS WILL EXPERIENCE

· Storytelling: Queens of ancient Kush (Kandakes)

· Group activity: Create your own “Queen Council”

· Guest speaker: Safety, awareness, and protection (former law enforcement officer)

· Creative exercise: “My Power Map” (support systems + voice + boundaries)

· Closing circle + affirmation ceremony

Refreshments and Snacks will be served!
