Datura-Con 2023

Datura-Con is an annual convention for Datura Style™ teachers to unite, dance together, and share inspiration. Participants can expect the following:

• Brush up on your technique with daily drill classes:  We'll revisit our old favorites and learn the latest Datura Technique Studies.
• Tune up your Datura Style Vocabulary: Drill down into the fine details of old and new Datura Style vocabulary. We'll dig deep into the details of each hand and foot placement.
• Get Group Improvisation practice: Here's where we get to play. Strengthen your soft skills with daily improvisation and practice leading and following in various group formations with other teachers trained in the movement style.  
• Collage! Because we can.
• Group discussion: Teaching is a wonderful, but often challenging job. We share stories and lend ears.

This event started out as a camping trip and rapidly evolved into dancing together. Next thing you know we were deep-diving into nerdy combo questions, and now we've got a full-on class schedule.

In the spirit of our original (before Covid) intention for Datura-Con, classes will be offered in-person only. However, all Datura Teachers are invited to our live-stream of the dance party (because we miss your faces). Zoom link will be posted in the Datura Teachers' groups.

• Tues/Wed/Thur 4 pm - Datura Teachers
• Tues / Thurs 7:30 pm - Collage Class
• Wed 7 pm - Discussion
• Friday 8 pm - Teacher Showcase
• Saturday 6 pm - Hafla
