L’OCA’s Date Night Series is dedicated to finding fun ways for our customers to connect with a partner.  
But, it doesn’t have to be romantic, so bring a date or a friend to L’OCA Labs for a fun evening filled with delicious food and led by our very own Chef Jaclyn Beckmann.  

Learn how to impress your guests with tasty food and have a memorable evening with the one you love (or just love spending time with). 

Upon arrival, Chef Jaclyn will guide you through how to build two different styles of cocktails for you and your partner. 

Next, you'll learn how to (safely and properly) shuck oysters, as well as how to prepare L'OCA's version of a Mignonette Sauce, made from minced shallots, cracked pepper, and vinegar, to dress up your raw oysters, or just top them with horseradish or other hot sauces. 

Then, get creative as you learn to assemble a selection of crostini using some of L’OCA’s favourite dips, spreads, and toppings, and Chef Jaclyn will share her expert tips on recreating these at home. 

Chef Jaclyn will next teach you how to prepare and sear sea scallops, and what to serve them with, including a light vegetable salad. 

 And, to top off the entire meal, you and your date will learn how to make decadent chocolate truffles.
