About this Event
Almost every organisation will, at some point, deal with personal data, whether it be the information they hold on employees to client data to the data accessed when providing services to clients. Whatever capacity, there are different obligations and responsibilities that fall within the scope of the UK data protection regime.
Depending on whether an organisation processes personal data as a data controller or a data processor, the requirements and responsibilities under the UK data protection regime may differ, and when an organisation is acting in multiple capacities – things can get complicated.
In this training session, we will be taking a look at who is considered a controller, joint controller, processor and sub-processor and break down what you need to do to comply with data protection legislation.
By the end of this session, you will
- Have a better understanding of the roles of controller, joint controller, processor and sub-processor; and
- Understand the agreements that must be in place to appropriately regulate the use of personal data.
