“Data-Driven” Decision-Making: What Does this Term Mean for Community Planning?
This presentation explores how local governments can leverage data sources and community input to create effective planning outcomes. Through practical examples, we will examine proven methodologies for integrating quantitative and qualitative data with meaningful public engagement. By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Analyze opportunities and challenges of applying quantitative and qualitative data in community planning
- Apply a framework for implementing data-driven planning processes by synthesizing community input methods with available data sources
Pennsylvania examples of utilizing both qualitative and quantitative data in community plans will be provided, along with illustrations of collecting and using qualitative data in planning -- such as processing and incorporating community conversations and stakeholder interviews into community plans.
