Dashamukha: Ravan's Village to Rama's Playground

Ramleela Fever is just around the corner and the 'Village' of Raavan and the 'Playground' of Lord Rama in Dilli calls you!!!

Weeks before Dussehra "Raavan's Village" in Delhi is a hotbed of hectic activity as expert craftsmen toil to create nearly 100Ft giant mythological characters of Raavan, Meghnaad and Kumbhkaran from a mass of bamboo reeds, paper and cloth in varying shapes and sizes for celebrations of Dussehra.

Come celebrate the spirit of Dussehra with mythological stories, rituals and practies of the master Raavan effigy makers of Delhi, learning how these giant effigies made of paper & bamboo become the largest symbols of the proverbial "Victory of Good over Evil" when Rama lights an arrow and sets Raavan's effigy on fire...

Then zoom across time to a 400 years-old Mughal, market to enjoy the larger-than-life theatrical processions of the mythological epic 'Ramayana' and the fair at the oldest Ramleela of Delhi, and get a sneak peak backstage with artists who enact the costumed roles. Or let loose the child in you and relive childhood memories with rides in the Ramleela Fairs on a Giant Ferris-wheel, Merry-go-rounds & many Fun-rides (On direct payment) 

Naturally the all the walking around and listening to mythological stories and Instagramming will make us hungry so you get to savour a handpicked set of "Navratri Special Sattvik Naashta" (evening snack) to complete our experience of soaking in the vibrant atmosphere that makes Delhi perhaps the best hub for Navratri Ramleelas in India!!!

NOTE: This is a two-location experience and travel between the two spots is using Delhi Metro, only and paid directly by you. Walk leader, our team members and all participants are expected to travel on metro & stay together.
