The Sidney Cooper Research Group has organised a talk during the Canterbury Festival on Monday October 20th 17.30, at the Augustine Hall. Arts Council England Chief Executive, Darren Henley, a passionate advocate for the work of Canterbury landscape artist and philanthropist Thomas Sidney Cooper, celebrates Cooper’s social purpose and artistic legacy from the 1850s to present day Canterbury.
Darren will be ‘in conversation’ with Hedley Roberts, Executive Dean, Canterbury School of Art, Architecture and Design, University for the Creative Arts (UCA), Canterbury. The UCA is the eventual ‘home’ of the art school that was originally founded by Sidney Cooper in 1868.
