About this Event

Pranayama is the Sanskrit term to describe the practice of conscious breathing. “Prana” means life force and “Yama” means control.

I will guide you in a heart-and-mind-opening breathwork practice set to the 43-minute album "Dark Side of the Moon."

Prior breathwork experience is not required, but would be helpful. This practice intended to combine music, breath, and energy for a fun, connected experience.

My coaching centers around practices that combine your physical, mental and spiritual experiences. It is my coaching goal to provide the set and setting to help you become open to receive of the abundance each and every time we practice. I am honored to be your guide.

Who is this for: Pranayama practice is for everyone who is generally healthy. This practice is specifically designed for people who are seeking methods to be present.

What to expect: We will arrive at the drum circle, near the Rose Garden, at 7:30 pm. (If you’re unfamiliar, there is a drum circle at Loose Park on Monday nights. We are not affiliated. You’ll find it by following the sound of the drums!) We will congregate there and then find the spot for our pranayama practice. Please be prompt to arrive, but we won’t start without everyone who has RSVP’d. Make sure your RSVP is accurate.

I will guide the group in collective breathing before reclining on our backs. This is where we will spend the majority of our time, breathing through our mouths. Please note, this is an active practice and, although we are not actively moving our bodies, you will likely experience an elevated heart rate.

A note about the set list: We will use the set list as a guide to explore the concepts of being present, breathing, opening, time, money, connectivness, the mind/body connection and the magic of music.

What to bring:

Yourself and your ability to breathe
Water
A mat or blanket or both
A piece of fruit (optional)
A journal and pen (optional)
A jacket (optional, and I know it is June but bring one)

This practice is both physically and mentally stimulating and is intended for those who are generally healthy with no medical restrictions. While this is a paid ticketing event, you are always welcome to exist in this space without exchange of financial tender.

If any of this resonates with you, I encourage you to step outside of your normal practice and try something new. Oh, also, there will be chocolate.

Namaste and see you there!

About Katie: I am a financial professional and social entrepreneur who found the healing powers of yoga and pranayama through adversity. I am honored to be trusted to provide access to this ancient healing modality to others. I am a trantric yoga practictioner; which is the basis for this type of breathwork. Yoga means "union." Tanta means "to weave or loom" and is an ancient yoga practice that promotes a healthy mind, body and spirit connection. Together we share in the abundance. I think live music is better and bumber stickers should be issued!
