About this Event
Darcy Scott is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Newfoundland. Darcy has been writing and performing original material since 2019 and continually seeks opportunities to work with other industry leaders to hone his songwriting skills. In 2019, Darcy would go on to win The Newfound Talent Contest at the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Festival where he had the privilege to perform his song “Hold On” to an enthusiastic Main Stage audience. That year also saw him make the Top 100 in the CBC Searchlight competition with another original song, “Happy Place”. His 2020 entry into CBC Searchlight pushed him into the Top 100 with another original, “Canadian Folk Singer” which he played at the Music NL Industry Awards. Darcy’s songwriting style has been called “soulful” and “beyond his years”. He gains inspiration from other singer-songwriters and uses this inspiration to tell his own stories. Darcy’s latest collaboration was during the Bell Media Songwriting Challenge where he and his co-writers created “1000 Words”, which landed him 1 out of 50 producer picks in The CBC Searchlight competition. This past year, Darcy had a song that was featured in the Hallmark Christmas movie, “Christmas in the Wilds”. This song was co-written with Rachel Cousins in 2018 and later published by CYMBA Music. He is currently working on his First EP which is set to release in 2023.
