Dallas, it's time to settle this once and for all.

D for Dapper — your favorite vintage menswear store in Dallas — is hosting the world's first ever Dap Up Tournament. We're bringing together the best duos in the city to compete for the title, $200 in store credit, and a very special surprise prize.

Come through for a day of good daps, good food, good drinks, and discounts on some of the freshest fits in Dallas.

TOURNAMENT RULES

Format Teams of two compete head to head in a single elimination bracket. Each round, both teams perform their dap and are scored by a panel of three judges. The highest score advances. Lose once and you're out.

Scoring Judges score each dap across three categories, each out of 10:

Execution (0-10) — Was it clean? Did both teammates hit every beat without fumbling? No hesitations, no missed connections.

Style (0-10) — Did it have personality? Creativity and difficulty count here. A basic handshake won't cut it.

Sound (0-10) — Did it hit? The clap, the snap, the smack — judges are listening as much as they're watching.

Maximum score per round: 30 points.

Rules

 • Each team gets one attempt per round

 • The dap must be completed within 10 seconds of the signal

 • If there is a significant fumble, the team gets one re-do — but judges may deduct up to 2 points

 • Teams may use a different dap in each round

 • No props

Finals The championship round is best of three. Both teams must introduce at least one new dap they have not performed in the tournament.

Tiebreaker In the event of a tied score, each team performs a single dap judged only on sound. The cleanest and loudest wins.

Prize The winning team takes home $200 in D for Dapper store credit, bragging rights for a whole year, and a very special surprise prize.
