Around two decades ago, what began as just a couple of buddies writing songs together quickly grew into an incredible recording project. Danny Dworkis and John Baxter knew they had some kickass songs and had tapped into

 a stream of musical creativity that would ultimately lead them to what would be aptly named Dankski. 

Determined to bring their indescribable and irresistible sound to the masses, they began recording with several innovative producers and engineers including Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Alice Cooper, Red

 Hot Chili Peppers, Motley Crue, Melvins), Roger Swan (K-OS, Devin Townsend, Swollen Members, Rascalz, Moka Only), Stefan Sigerson (Econoline Crush, Lily Frost, Rhino Bucket) and Doug Fury (Bif Naked).  

While paying their dues and honing their craft across the Vancouver live music scene at landmark venues like The Roxy, Backstage Lounge, Railway Club, Portside, Studio, Cobalt and Wise Hall, their shows have featured backing

 musicians such as Ziggy Sigmund (Econoline Crush, Slow), Ray Garraway (K-OS, Salvador Dream), Tommy MacDonald (Headly, Jar) and Randall Stoll (K.D. Lang, Boulevard). 

Now, joined by their crushing rhythm section consisting of Dave Larocque and Sam Madani, Dankski are ready to take over the universe.

Thia Lanuza is a Vancouver-based Jazz and R&B vocalist. Having been singing for most of her life, her musical and vocal talents have led her to becoming the director of The Northwest Collective, an award-winning competitive a cappella group hailing from UBC. Backed by highly capable musicians Rick Son (keyboard), Steven Zhu (drums), Junggyu Joo (Bass), and Jeffery Chen (guitar); the quintet will be presenting an evening of energetic R&B and Soul music.
