Dandy Lion Sessions is a free, intimate Friday concert series that takes place in the cafe section of the VEC. The show starts with an open mic, followed by two feature performers performing a set each from 4:30 - 5:30.Come join us if you want to share art with the community, support local artists while drinking local craft cider/beer and listening to some live music in a cozy space, or network with other music lovers! This event is free and funded by Creative BC.

This week's Feature Artists:
Tasha Cadence writes her music on topics like the queer heartbreak experience, learning and connecting with the traditional Lekwungen and Saanich territories on which we reside, and the rad and confusing experience of being alive.
Claire Coupland has been described as “A breath of fresh air in the music world”-Independent Artist Buzz. Her newest album, “New Light”, was recorded in LA last summer with Juno award winning musician Sam Weber.
This moving songwriter and compelling guitarist combines smooth finger picking, jazz influenced progressions and a pure velvet voice. Having spent the last 10 years in Toronto working/touring, we are lucky to have Claire and her songwriting talents living back on Van. Island.
After a busy summer of touring and festivals, Claire is thrilled to share her music in the intimate setting of the VEC Dandy Lion Coffee Shop! She will share songs of self worth, love, painful goodbyes, fragile family dynamics and ultimate hope and optimism in the world around her.
