When the “world” is too much with us, from the poem by William Wordsworth, we should consider Dancing Through Life. In this concert, Strings Con Brio will take you on a musical journey that emphasizes this concept. From the early classical music of William Boyce to a ballad by George Gershwin, audience members will experience familiar and well-loved music designed to lift their spirits. International dance styles ranging from a Viennese Waltz of Strauss to a rousing Slavic Folk Dance by Dvořák will bring listeners to a carefree level of enjoyment. Also featured will be a medley from the Tony Award-Winning musical Wicked, and the beautiful Romance for Violin and Orchestra by Johan Svendsen with soloist Armida Lawter.
