Dancing in the Dark -- Moving it Through

Ever notice the blanket in the Tarot’s anxiety card: seven of swords? It looks so vibrant, warm, enveloping. She’s grieving, she’s taken the day off, and she’s got the best blanket ever. These darkening days and all the brutal worldly shadows compel us to find our comforts, attend to our rest, and brew up our antidotes.
But seven big swords hang in the air! What do they represent to you? Lets get really embodied and gently turn towards what's in our hearts, our joy, our fears, our grief.
Resourcing with stretching and breath and gentle movement we can get resilient enough to embody an expanded range of emotional experience. After a long slow warm-up that anchors us safely in our felt sensations, we'll circle up and spend 15 minutes throwing our worries into the centre, shining some light on our shadows. The invitation is to bring your distilled trouble and share it in a short paragraph (if you like). We're not going to talk about or fix problems, we're simply going to return to the dance floor and play with mirroring, authentic movement, composition and group scores. Any bets we humans can work it through with play and connectivity. Examples of my favourite set of troubles these days: yours might be totally different.
*Trump. And the fact he got elected.
* War. In Palestine, the Ukraine, Sudan.
* Impending climate catastrophe? Floods, fire, atmospheric rivers and bomb cyclones
* Displaced human populations migrating in the age of Trumped-up racism?
* effect of drought on elephants and polar bears?
* nightly news? (Can’t watch it but can’t not-watch-it either?)

This is for you if you love to move. If you find yourself stressed, overwhelmed or hypervigilent about the world right now. Come dance it out, it's the best medicine. It serves the body/mind so well to break state. To shake and shimmy, stretch and breathe. It also serves to get silent w the other mammals, to share prayers, to share breath and sound and movement.
This will be a crafted container that opens up space to name troubles on our heart with the invitation to find self-regulation, find co-regulation, share authentic movement, witness and be seen. With tapping, breath, animal movement pattterns, passes across the floor, it will gently help you find any back-eddies of anger, worry, or despair in your tissue that needs to get moved through. We will together create a safe space to reset our nervous system from fight or flight. Let's cultivate space in the joints AND head. Let’s cultivate some good juju together. Come to feel. Come to play.
