Get ready for an exciting in-person event where Dancer's Mantle: Bridging Sacred Movement and Systemic Justice (Luke 4:18)
This is a powerful concept. Bridging the prophetic mandate of Luke 4:18 with somatic practice at the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference creates a unique, needed space. It takes "the mantle"—often viewed purely as a spiritual inheritance—and applies it directly to the physical labor of dismantling systemic injustice.
Here is a comprehensive Eventbrite layout, featuring engaging subject options, a cohesive narrative structure, and a clear, functional schedule.

How do we move the mantle of justice from a policy page to the human body?
At this year's Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference, you are invited to step into The Dancer's Mantle, a three-part immersive experience that bridges sacred movement with systemic social justice.
Grounded in the prophetic mandate of Luke 4:18—“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised”—this event reframes dance not just as artistic expression or spiritual worship, but as an essential tool for literal, systemic liberation.
True justice requires us to address how oppression settles into our physical bodies and how our movements can demand, enact, and celebrate freedom. Whether you are an advocate, a minister, a community organizer, or a mover, this day will challenge you to embody the call to set the oppressed free.
What to Expect
