Dancehall is a vibrant technique that blends Jamaican and Caribbean dance cultures derived from the culture, sayings, and the patois within the Caribbean community.
In this workshop, participants will learn the basic steps of dancehall with a breakdown of their meaning and history before learning original choreography set to trending reggae music.
L.A.S. Dancers serve as international cultural ambassadors of the Jamaican dancehall and Caribbean dance culture here in New York City. The teaching style of this dynamic duo offers a credible cultural exchange by educating students on dance vocabulary, the history of the movement, cultural implications, and coaching on the technique.
