Dance through Your Everyday Movement

The workshop is open to everyone aged 18+

Everyone has their daily routine, a daily sequence. Your body supports your everyday behaviour from the moment you wake up, shower, commute, eat, and work till you go to bed. Therefore, we are performing in the context of our life. Solo while being alone; duet, trio and ensemble while being with others.

NO dance/acting experience is needed!

This movement workshop explores our daily movement from a different perspective, inviting people to explore their artistic everyday life. From everyday actions like walking, sitting and eating and so on, we explore the details of our simple daily actions and let them become the fundamental elements of a performative body.

Throughout this workshop, I invite you to perceive your body through different ways of seeing yourself and discover our unique way of moving. Then we develop movement from choreography practices. The details of our everyday actions become fundamental elements of a performative body.

At the end of the session, your bodies will become freer to move and perform. It is a session open to actors who want to move or everyone who wants to explore another way of moving their bodies. It is a place where we devise the outcome together and inspire each other.

☀️☀️☀️ JULY SPECIAL ☀️☀️☀️

The usual 2-hour workshop will extend to three-hour special version in July's evening. Where we spend more time with a little taste of viewpoint/laban movement analysis in our movement practice in space and with others. And the most important, we spend more time enjoying our movement party!!!

Ting-Ning is a London-based dancer, performer and movement director from Taiwan, finishing her MFA Choreography at Trinity Laban. She is interested in resonating with people's attention by developing everyday movement into performance. She participated in the New Earth Performer Academy in July 2022. She also works with emerging artists to develop movement projects from multi-disciplinary backgrounds such as architecture, sonic & visual art and database. Ting-Ning is an ensemble member of devising theatre companies- Ensemble Not Fund and Halfpace Theatre and the assistant director of the immersive theatre The Village at Persona Collective.
