Dance the Connection: a social exploration combining free-form dance with playful & authentic conversation.
Just as a meditator aims to bring mindfulness into daily life and relationships, we invite ourselves to carry the embodiment and presence cultivated in dance into meaningful, verbal connections that will ripple on through our lives beyond the dance floor.

Why Combine Dance and Relating

While other dance spaces often emphasize non-verbal expression, Dance the Connection offers an alternative: a dynamic environment where we flow between embodied movement and intentional, spoken word. This format encourages us to explore a new kind of relational experience, one that awakens content in the soma and threads it through words into a deeper connection with others, ultimately building a greater sense of belonging.

The Music Format is 1 or 2 waves of increasing energy, from stillness to a peak, then a soft landing, with the Relating segments alternating. Music styles are varied, but with the intent to bring in sounds from cultures around the world.

DJ Chris Kria (aka Chris Durian) is a dance lover and music collector. He completed the DANCE THE MEDICINE Ecstatic Dance DJ certification in 2024. He enjoys free form dancing including Deep Dance, 5 Rhythms, Ecstatic Dance, and others.

He has explored dance spaces around the world to discover music, including Argentina, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, and the United States, and seeks music that includes culturally diverse sounds and styles from around the world. https://www.mixcloud.com/chriskria

Lana Koy is an L.A. based relational coach and authentic relating facilitator. She loves community building, play and festive explorations.

As an Integral Relationship and Authentic Relating facilitator, certified KRI Kundalini Yoga instructor, FAIR and PEAT Method energy psychology practitioner, Lana enjoys being of service to individuals, couples and groups as they expand their awareness and settle into their most authentic selves.
