Dance Residency: Marcus Louend, Good Mourning

Good Mourning is a physical theatre work exploring grief through the relationship between the body and objects of support, examining how adornment and material forms become physical and symbolic appendages that bear the weight of the grieving body.
In unveiling the relationship to these sculptural supports, this work-in-development will also trace the body’s bond to an absent object, and how the physical experience of being supported, restricted, or transformed can leave an embodied residue.
The showing will be followed by a short Q&A with Marcus and their collaborative team, hosted by The Mill CEO/Artistic Director Katrina Lazaroff. Audiences will have the opportunity to ask questions about the development and provide feedback about the performance.
