Hey yoga friends! Johanna here, owner of Go Inside Yoga. Before I found yoga, I experienced freedom through dance! I took dance classes as a kid for 10 years and then went out to the clubs in my 20s. As an almost 50 year old, I find few opportunities to express myself that way here in Conway and DAMN I miss it!!I'm hosting this event because I love to dance. I'm not saying I'm good at it, but I can feel the rhythm in my body and I'm compelled to move. Often, dancing requires going out to a bar or club, which can be fun, but includes a lot of other dynamics that you may not be in the mood for. So I just wanted to offer this up as an early NYE event. Just to dance out all those frustrations from this last year and end 2024 with an expression of JOY.
You can dress in 70s apparel if you enjoy dressing up, you can also just show up in sweatpants. I don't want how you look to be a factor in whether you show up, because that is not what this is about. But if you enjoy getting all fabulous, by all means do!
I'll play some classic dance hits from the 70s. I'll also provide some water and tea. If you want something else BYOB. I'm hoping to start something here, where we can dance together as a group, starting quarterly or maybe monthly if there is the desire. Please wear barefoot, socks or some dance type shoe, no street shoes so as to protect the bamboo floor and sacred space.
