Dance Movement Therapy (DMT) is a somatic practice that uses spontaneous movement as a way of self-exploration.This workshop offers a gentle introduction to the principles of dance-movement therapy. It is not a dance class and not a fitness session. There are no steps to learn and no choreography to follow.
Participants are guided through simple movement and awareness exercises, sometimes individually and sometimes in interaction with others. The focus is on listening to the body, noticing impulses, and allowing movement to arise naturally.
Through this process, participants may experience greater grounding, emotional awareness, and nervous system regulation.
The atmosphere is supportive and non-judgmental. The intention is to create a safe and accessible space for exploration, not therapy.
No previous movement experience is required.
Facilitated by Marie Vejvodová
Marie completed a 4.5-year certified professional training in dance-movement therapy. She continues to deepen her education in somatic and self-development approaches in the Czech Republic and abroad. In her work, she creates a respectful and non-judgmental space where participants can reconnect with themselves through authentic movement.
