Dance Medicine Family!

Yo Yo YO! It's summer time and we're back with a few ecstatic dances this season. Say goodbye to the mosquitoes and airplane mode because this season we will be wiggling in a new indoor spot that encourages us to PLAY!

Join us on Sunday, June 23rd as we move our bodies at our NEW LOCATION the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts in Germantown. We are so amped about this new location and it will be our home for the fall and winter dances.

We are so ecstatic to welcome Merlin Sky to the stage ✨

.•*As a lifelong dancer, Merlin understands the necessity of crafting dynamic flows that allow for many different planes of physical and emotional expression - ranging from intentional ecstatic dance waves, all the way to late-night warehouse throw-downs. He enjoys creating these experiences with many genres: trap and world bass infusions, progressive house and techno, latin and world beats, medicine music, and more. 

Having toured up and down the West Coast, playing both ecstatic dances and festival stages, Merlin is here to make Magic, and express the dance of life through his unique sonic wizardry.

Warm Up your body with Jacob Ellis

Jacob is the founder of Solutions For Evolution & a founding Organizer for Dance Medicine Philly since its conception in 2017.

He has been teaching yoga for 8 years now, with the Mission to assist students in Rediscovering what it means to be Human & Empowering folks to BE the Solutions For Evolution our planet is desperately seeking! Jacob spends his time between the concrete jungle of Philadelphia and the real Jungle of Costa Rica sharing the SFE philosophy.

His classes are filled with enthusiasm and always incorporate a thoughtful spiritual theme that is weaved together into his fluid style of vinyasa that combines Asana, Qi Gong, Dance elements & Breathwork. You can be sure to walk away from a class feeling inspired with a liberated sense of your inner child!

We are excited to share our collective Dance Medicine in this amazing community where consent, authentic communication, support & love rest at the foundation & core. In order to keep things safe in these uncertain times we ask that you take the necessary health precautions you feel called to take for yourself and respect the choice of others. (If you have felt sick, had a fever or cough, please do not attend.) Masks are welcome if that is appropriate for you, they will not be enforced.

Dance Medicine Philly is a drug & alcohol free event. We ask that there is no talking on the dance floor and no cameras used during the event. Please respect this as our intention is to offer folks a safe, supportive place to dance, move wiggle and wobble into full self expression.

Some things to consider bringing: Water bottle, yoga mat, something warm to cover with for the sound healing, acoustic instruments such as drums/rattles, fire and flow toys like hula hoops, juggling balls, and poi.

Come whenever you can arrive. If you need to come in late or leave early, this is ok. Kids of all ages are welcome too!!

5.No shoes on the dance floor (unless foot protection is necessary)
