Welcome to Dance It Out! Join us on Wednesdays at The Yard (formerly The Stableyard) in Worthing where you can just let loose and dance it all out with friends and/or fellow dance lovers. This in-person event provides a gorgeous space for you to be with yourself, move in your own way, welcome in some fresh new energy, and have a blast on the dance floor at the same time.
For this project I am combining my skills as a therapist and a DJ! I provide a bridge between the conscious dance experience (think Ecstatic Dance, 5 Rhythms) and the more energetic, uplifting elements of a club dance floor.
You will hear music from a variety of genres including organic house and floaty vibes, some deep funk, afro and tribal, building up to two separate peaks where the tempo rises - a bit of drum n bass here, maybe some progressive and melodic techno there, some breakbeat, and all sorts in between! I only choose the good stuff that makes you want to dance, fully let go and have a great time!
I do give some guidance as you dance, particularly at the beginning, with some simple warm-up movements, poses and postures (inspired by Ancient Qigong and Egyptian Power Postures) to help you feel grounded and embodied before you go into the dancing free-style! There is also a cool-down at the end and the opportunity to share any insights with the group - but only if you would like to.
Come alone or with friends! Wear comfortable clothing that enables you to move freely. Feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions.
