Please join us Sunday, June 27th as we celebrate community, collaboration, and our collective voice. Dance for Freedom is the first event of its kind. This safe space is being created to help dancers embody their truth and share their experiences of survivorship and healing. Help us create a survivor-centered and survivor-empowered environment where all voices are welcome.
Event activities include two dance classes led by world-renowned guest teachers, and a community discussion led by Isabella Grosso and Cat Cogliandro.

Guest Teachers
Cat Cogliandro (They/She). Mx. Cogliandro has a passion for art and expression. For freedom and love! For living an unapologetic life of happiness. As she navigates though her own wild adventures of triumph and failure, she hopes to inspire others to do the same (especially the youth) and to do so fearlessly. Cat is a passionate educator, activist, and advocate for creating safer, more inclusive dance spaces. Her dance company, CATASTROPHE!, also aims to promote the power (and necessity) of self-love and self-worth. They placed second runner up at 2015 Capezio ACE Awards and have been seen performing in shows in Los Angeles, New York, Brazil, and Korea.
Dana Wilson ( She/Her/Hers) I dance, I choreograph, I teach, I coach, I talk… about DANCE! You might have seen me getting down with Justin Timberlake, or in the famous opening scene of La La Land, and get ready to catch some my of choreography for the film adaptation of the Broadway hit, “In The Heights”! I make people happy with The Seaweed Sisters. Oh, and I have a knack for teaching. Take my class on NYCDA or get to know me by listening to my podcast!

The Dance Safe advocates for survivors of abuse. The Dance Safe is a collection of advocates in pursuit of creating safe dance spaces through education, healing, and accountability. We believe in the power of people coming together to courageously speak up and out against harm being caused in the dance community. Our mission is to put human beings at the forefront of dance.
She-Is Powerful is a Los Angeles based non-profit organization dedicated to providing a supportive environment for young girl survivors of sexual abuse and sex trafficking. We inspire young girls between the ages of 11-18 to re-gain control of their bodies, to overcome feelings of shame, anger, mistrust and betrayal, while reinforcing a new sense of pride in themselves. We do this through the healing power of dance.
