Have you ever had the dream to dance like a professional dancer? Dance Canvas invites movers of all ages to experience our FREE Artist-to-Artist choreography workshops in The Backyard. Dance Canvas' goal is to introduce the Atlanta community to the world of professional dance! Each month, Dance Canvas will make you move with exciting, innovative choreography in all styles of dance...from Contemporary, to Hip Hop, to Ballet and much more. Don't miss your chance to dance the night away!

Ballet in the Backyard w/ Angela Harris<h4>Wednesday, May 22 (6:00 - 7:00PM)</h4>
Back by Popular Demand, Nationally-acclaimed teacher, Award-winning choreographer, and Dance Canvas' Artistic Director, Angela Harris, returns to Home Depot Backyard with an open Adult Ballet class! Angela gets participants to share in the love of ballet through a fun, upbeat, leap into the world of Ballet. This class is perfect for all levels (modifications will be made for everyone who takes the class.)Angela is an Adjunct Professor of Ballet at Spelman College and Emory University and has performed professionally with The Georgia Ballet, Columbia City Ballet and Urban Ballet Theater in New York City. Don't miss this beautiful evening of Ballet!
Modern Dance Masterclass w/ Lonnie Davis<h4>Wednesday, May 22 (7:15 - 8:15PM)</h4>
Last season's crowd favorite Modern class returns to kick-off this season of dance at Home Depot Backyard!Distinguished teacher and choreographer, Lonnie Davis, is known for challenging dancers to build strength, flexibility and artistry in his Horton based Modern Masterclass. This is the first time this class has been offered in the Home Depot Backyard, and by popular demand, Lonnie, will give participants a chance to experience his signature choreography. Come out and dance with us!

What should I wear to class?
We suggest wearing athletic clothing that is "breathable" and allows you to move. For both the Contemporary and Hip Hop classes, sneakers or dance shoes would be appropriate (*no flip flops or sandals)
Do I need dance experience to take class?
All are welcome! Our teachers will give options for dancers of all levels! Our classes are designed to give people a chance to learn professional choreography from Artists and Dance Companies in a fun environment.
Are children allowed?
While we love little ones, and our classes are open to all, our teachers will be teaching to adults. Children under 16 years old should attend class with a guardian. The classes are probably not appropriate for children under 10 years old, unless the participant has dance experience.

FREE Parking is available in the Mercedes-Benz Lot across from Gate 1 on the corner of Northside Dr. and Magnolia St. NW on a first-come, first-serve basis. Additional parking will be available on an hourly basis in the Orange Deck.
Rideshare: Guests are encouraged to arrive at the Vine City MARTA Station and use the crosswalk or pedestrian bridge to walk across Northside Drive to Gate 1.
MARTA: The preferred station for arrival and departure is the Vine City Station. This station will drop you off just across the street from Gate 1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Use the crosswalk or pedestrian bridge at Northside Drive
