Rachmaninoff: Symphony No. 2
The program opens with gusto and joy with Leonard Bernstein‘s brilliant Overture to Candide. Written in 2019 by British composer Anna Clyne, DANCE is a five-movement work based upon a five-line poem by the 13th-century poet Rumi. Cellist Eric Byers returns to perform with OSM in this rich, compelling work. Sergei Rachmaninoff‘s passionate Symphony No. 2 is a masterpiece of romantic music. It was an instant success when it premiered in 1908 and continues to be revered to this day.
Concert information
Lobby doors open at 1pm. All tickets are open seating, so please arrive early. Late seating isn't guaranteed! Limited parking is available in the lot next to the theater, and also on the street. Please check street parking signs carefully.
