About ~ Somatic: ~
From a dual heritage Indian-English background, Somatic (Somin Griffin-Dave) specialises in the sonic world as a Sound Artist, Producer, DJ, Sound Engineer and Tour Manager.
Inspired by the Devon landscapes he grew up in, his versatile practice includes creating electronic music that treads the line between club and home listening, audio for dance & film and audio-visual creation.
Although his sound is rooted in electronica and more traditional dance music genres like Jungle, Drum and Bass, IDM, Techno and Breakbeat, he draws on music from a wide pool such as Bossa, Afrobeat, Cumbia, modern western Classical, Jazz and his Indian heritage to create a big melting pot of sounds that informs in sonic identity.
Somatic is also a Daytimers affiliate and the human behind the Sonic Landscapes of Colour Project.

About ~ Sonic Landscapes of Colour ~
Through 10 interviews and 5 recording sessions with non-western traditional instrumentalists the 60min Sonic Landscapes of Colour sound-art documentary, will tell the story of what it's like to grow up in the South West as a ‘person of colour’.
This will then hopefully be carried on BBC, other local radio stations and streaming platforms along with mini-sode's which will be used as anti-racism resources in education.

About ~ Resilient Roots ~
People of Colour, need a safe space to meet, share and talk openly about their experiences of living and growing in Devon. Resilient Roots aims to offer this held, independent, safe online meeting space to you. Post BLM we recognised this need even more, as we heard time after time our people publicly speak out about their experiences & difficulties of racism & living in the South West.
Come exactly as you are, you are fully welcome!
