Located just 45 miles from Cambridge, Danbury Ridge is a pioneering English winery that has quickly established itself as one of the UK’s top producers of fine wine. The estate focuses on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, combining the latest viticultural techniques with Essex’s unique microclimate to craft elegant, complex wines. The estate began in 2014 when the Bunker family planted their first vines on land previously deemed unsuitable for crops, discovering that the lean, arid soils were perfect for grape growing. Their ambition, paired with expert advice and significant investment, has enabled winemaker Liam Idzikowski to reliably produce exceptional still wines every year since their first vintage in 2018. Drawing inspiration from the smaller domaines of Burgundy, Danbury Ridge continues to refine its approach, producing wines with remarkable depth and quality.
