As a keyboardist, producer and improviser, Dan Nicholls embraces sound as a tool for liberation, healing and joyful collectivity. Intricately crafting sound worlds which invite listeners to explore both other-worldly perceptions and the grounding and embodying nature of sound and movement, Dan's work deeply considers how sonic (and other) gestures might facilitate forms of resistance, unity and deeper understanding.
Dan has worked as a keyboardist with Alabaster De Plume, Goldie, Shabaka, Dudù Kouate, Dali De Saint Paul, Matthew Herbert, Sarah Nicolls, Christian Marklay, Squarepusher and many more.
They co-curate the London event series 'Free Movements' and have created music and sound design for dance, film and installations.
