Dan Newberry is quickly gaining a reputation as a rising star on the UK jazz scene.
A graduate from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, he is now based in Bristol and is highly in demand, having performed across the UK, Europe and America.
Dan brings his quartet to Steamin', promising energy, nuance, and spontaneity. From intimate ballads to high-energy burners, the Dan Newberry Quartet creates a captivating music experience.

Steamin' Jazz Club at the Steam and Whistle
Steamin’ is Cheltenham’s newest jazz club, hosted by a collaboration of experienced musicians from across the spectrum of jazz. It aims to offer monthly gigs, taking place at The Steam and Whistle, near Cheltenham Spa railway station.

The club is hosted at the Steam and Whistle, a beautiful Victorian pub opposite Cheltenham spa station (GL51 8NW). The pub has a purpose-built venue space that hosts a variety of music, comedy and creative arts, including Dom Joly’s monthly SpeakeaZy.
Food
The pub has quickly become known for its amazing food. Come early and enjoy quality pizzas, and stay on for drinks after the gig.
Travel and parking
Situated close to Cheltenham spa railway station, the venue is well served by public transport. The nearest car park is at the station.
Return trains on Wednesdays:
Cheltenham to Stroud run up to 10.15pm.
Cheltenham to Bristol Temple Meads run up to 11pm.
