Join us for the Canadian launch of Dan Kovalik's and Jeremy Kuzmarov's new book, "Syria: Anatomy of Regime Change."The launch in Hamilton will take place on Monday, December 8th, which happens to be the first anniversary of the fall of the Assad government of Syria.
The new book details the long history of attempts by the USA to overthrow the governments of Hafez and Bashar Assad, presidents of the Syrian Arab Republic. Celebrated film maker, Oliver Stone, wrote the introduction for the book, which is listed here in the catalogue of Baraka Books, Montreal:

Dan Kovalik served as in-house counsel at the United Steelworkers of America for 26 years at its headquarters in Pittsburgh. He has been a labor and human rights lawyer since graduating from Columbia Law School in 1993. He has represented plaintiffs in human rights cases arising out of egregious abuses in Colombia. He also taught International Human Rights at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law from 2012 to 2023. Author of many books, including "The Case for Palestine: Why It Matters and Why You Should Care", he received the David W. Mills Mentoring Fellowship from Stanford Law School, the Serena Shim Award for Uncompromised Integrity in Journalism, and Iran’s 15th Farabi International Award. Dan Kovalik lives in Pittsburgh.
Hamilton is the first stop on Dan's Canadian book launch tour, which also stops in Toronto and Montreal. The Hamilton launch will take place at 7 pm on Monday, December 8th, in the Southwest Lounge of New Vision United Church, 24 Main Street West. The church is adjacent to the MacNab Street bus terminal. Paid parking is available across the street at Hamilton City Hall or behind the church (at the former Right House parking lot.)
FREE ADMISSION. A voluntary offering will be taken during the event. Dan will lecture for about 45 minutes and take questions afterward. Following the Q&A, Dan will autograph copies of his new book, which will sell for about $25 CAD.
Dan's Toronto launch takes place on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 7 pm, at A Different Booklist (bookstore), 779 Bathurst Street, just south of the Bathurst Subway Station. His Montreal launch takes place on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 7 pm, at Centre St. Pierre, Salle Ronald-Asselin 204 at 1212 Rue Panet. In Montreal at the same time, Prof. Samir Saul will also speak about his book, "Imperialism: as rampant today as in the past."
The public is welcome to attend all three events. Free admission.
