Damion Shade is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and social activist. A native of Jackson, Mississippi he now lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma where his music bridges the divide between visceral delta gospel and blues centered in the unique complexities of the American Southwest. Damion Shade & the Boom Bap Chorus is a supergroup composed of some of the best musicians in Oklahoma. Boom Bap channels its creative energy into a jaw-dropping musical spectacle that is one part Pentecostal tent revival and one part eccentric rock explosion. ARTIST PROJECT INFO Damion Shade & the Boom Bap Chorus aim to develop a unique multimedia performance centered on the visual mythology and motifs of Black American Pentecostal tent revivals while honoring the complex musical and spiritual legacy and history of Black Wall Street and Oklahoma's storied musical past. This exploration of faith, relationships, personal Black identity, and history will mark the release of Damion Shade & the Boom Bap Chorus's debut album in 2025.
