This year marks the 80th Anniversary of the Dambusters raid by 617 Squadron of the Royal Air Force. Richard's presentation covers the history of the squadron and its key personnel from the day after the Dams Raid to the end of the war as they became the elite squadron of Bomber Command attacking almost impossible targets with more new weapons at both low altitude and from on high with the Tallboy and Grand Slam bombs while pioneering new techniques with a level of accuracy unmatched by any other bomber squadron in WWII. Richard de Boer is the founder and president of the Calgary Mosquito Society, restoring the City of Calgary's Mosquito and Hurricane aircraft. Richard is also the Calgary chapter president of the Canadian Aviation Historical Society and a founding member of the Hangar Flight Museum, former assistant curator of the Canadian Warplane Heritage and board member of Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame.
