About this Event
Community Screening: The Alabama Solution
Exposing Pr*son Conditions, Forced Labor & Human Rights Violations
Join us for a powerful community screening of The Alabama Solution, an Oscar-nominated documentary created by incarcerated people that exposes the realities of life inside U.S. state prisons.
Hosted by Gateway Alliance Project, this screening is presented by BeFrank4Justice and CAST, in collaboration with Dallas-area grassroots organizations committed to human rights, Pr*son conditions, and justice reform.
About the Film
The Alabama Solution was secretly filmed by Pr*son inmates using contraband cell phones—risking severe punishment to reveal the truth. The film exposes:
- Forced Pr*son labor that mirrors modern-day slavery
- Inhumane conditions of confinement
- Officer brutality, including incidents that resulted in serious injury and death
- Corruption inside Pr*son systems, including contraband trafficking
What to Expect
This is not a passive viewing experience. The screening will include facilitated, in-screening small group discussions led by Dallas-based, justice-impacted advocates and organizers.
Come learn. Come listen. Come be part of the conversation.
