About this Event

DAISY's In-Person Book Club -- DAISY's Deep Reads

Come join us for DAISY's Deep Reads Book Club at the South Houston Branch Library! We'll be diving into 1 of our monthly deep reads: Jonathan Haidt's book The Anxious Generation.

DAISY’s Book Clubs are in-person reading and discussion groups designed to reduce mental health stigma, spark healing conversations, provide healthy coping activities, and build supportive community spaces for all ages. Each month, we feature a thoughtfully chosen book that focuses on mental health, behavioral wellness, or substance use recovery—inviting readers to explore, connect, and reflect through the author’s insights and meaningful discussions that promote overall wellbeing. Discussions are facilitated by volunteers and mental wellness advocates from Creative Mental Wellness, ensuring a safe, respectful, welcoming environment.

501(c)(3) nonprofit Creative Mental Wellness wants to reach everyone and support each participant’s life journey. DAISY's Book Club Program is intentionally inclusive, offering 3 book club tracks tailored by age groups to meet people where they are in their lives and emotional development.

**DAISY's Book Club tracks:

  • DAISY's Deep Reads Book Club is the adult track (Ages 18+)
  • DAISY's Thrive Hive Book Club is the track for teens & adolescents (Ages 12–17)
  • DAISY's Little Sprouts Book Club is the children's track (Ages 4–11)

** DAISY's Thrive Hive Book Club and DAISY's Little Sprouts Book Club will be rolled out later this year.
